A website created by Mangos, a full-service Philadelphia advertising agency, has been selected by Communication Arts as its Webpick of the day for December 18, 2012. The awarded site, rafaelnavarro.com, was created for Navarro Saxophone Mouthpieces, a Florida-based company that makes exquisite, custom mouthpieces for some of the most talented sax players in the world.
Communication Arts, a prestigious publication in the design industry, began featuring their Webpick of the day in 2007. The selection process is based on projects that are graphically strong and technologically interesting. The sites also have to be intuitive with a strong user interface.
Mangos’ site for Navarro was chosen by Communication Arts because of the strong product presentation, which showcases the brilliant, museum-like quality of each mouthpiece while, at the same time, communicating a great deal of detail and content through unobtrusive modal windows. The site is unique in that its elegantly open design hosts a flawless e-commerce platform with built-in rich media and social media functionality.
“It’s just so nicely done, especially for a commerce site. The mouthpieces are presented art-like in a spare gallery setting and the quality and simplicity of that presentation is carried nicely through the remainder of the site. It’s a really cohesive approach that works well for the size of the subject,” commented Sue Garibaldi, Editor of Communication Arts.
Bradley Gast, Partner at Mangos, remarked “We are so proud of this website and absolutely thrilled that it is being recognized among the industry’s best. We are privileged to work with clients that want to break through the clutter and create such bold and unique pieces of work.”
